NEGROS ORIENTAL has 16 new confirmed coronavirus cases, Assistant Provincial Health officer Dr. Liland Estacion announced in a press briefing this morning.
Thirteen of the new cases are soldiers of the Philippine Army’s 302nd Infantry Brigade. Two others are from Amlan town and one is from Bais City, all locally stranded individuals.
Assistant Provincial Health officer Dr. Liland Estacion announced that the province has 16 new cases, but assured that these are not local transmissions as they are all Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APOR) and locally stranded individuals (LSI).
She maintained that all of the new cases are imported mostly from coronavirus hotspot Cebu, as majority of them are soldiers who were deployed there to implement community quarantine measures.
