NEGROS ORIENTAL — The Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (PIATF-EID) led a simple “send-off” ceremony earlier this morning for the 12 “pescadores” who recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and are now ready for reintegration to the respective communities.
The pescadores, were among the more than 163 fishermen aboard the fishing vessel Philip DR who arrived in the province last May 17, who later tested positive for COVID-19.
After testing negative of COVID-19 twice, they were fetched by their respective LGUs and start their re-integration process.
Asst. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Liland Estacion and LDRRM Officer Adrian Sedillo of the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force-Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-EID) witnessed the send-off where the “pescadores” were given a certification of clean bill of health and food packs from the Department of Social Welfare and Development Office (DSWD) and the PSWDO.
The remaining “pescador” who still test positive of COVID-19 is still isolated in the government quarantine facility. | via Ban Mendez
